The 2010 Twin Cities Black Film Festival is taking place this weekend at the Hotel Ivy from Friday to Sunday. They're screening 10 features and 8 shorts based around their mission of providing an "opportunity for independent filmmakers of color in which to have their works showcased before the community, as well as, serve as an avenue of discovery for industry professionals seeking new talent worldwide." In addition to their movie programming, the festival is hosting panel discussions, parties concluding each day, and a Q&A with actors and producers of the opening night film, The Inheritance.
No one theme ties all the pieces together, ensuring something for most everybody. Documentaries, romance films and horror stories are scattered throughout the 20 hours of programming scheduled this weekend. See the list of films as well as the schedule to check out the festival's offerings. The shows begin Friday at 6:45 with opening remarks and closes Sunday with an after party at Hotel Ivy at 10.
